#GiveBack 2015: Sara Morales, REALTOR®/Broker & Junior Achievement

Sara had a hard time choosing which charity she would select to feature as part of her #GiveBack campaign. Sara is an avid volunteer and has worked with organizations such as Junior Achievement, PEAK! Partners of Pasco, Hispanic Academic Achievers Program, Salvation Army and The American Cancer Society. It’s pretty easy to see that she understands the importance of what it means to #GiveBack.

Sara worked with Junior Achievement as a volunteer teacher for two years. She has found her experience in the classroom rewarding and extremely fulfilling. She was responsible for preparing the classes activities  each week and implementing the J.A. curriculum.

She took a unique approach in her teaching, which she believes made her successful, and was a total hit with the students! She had fun, weekly vocab recitals along with entertaining games to play and always rewarded her students with company swag and prizes.

She believes “it’s a great way to give back to the younger generation and it’s so positive for your company. It’s an opportunity to provide some insight on your career and what you do for a living”.

She describes herself as a long time teacher and has tutored Spanish, taught English as a foreign language abroad, coached downhill ski-racing and even teaches monthly home buyer classes. She is always giving back in one way or another.

Junior Achievement is the world’s largest non-profit economic education organization, reaching more than four million students in the United States each year and over 10,000 students here in the Tri-Cities area. J.A.’s mission is to educate and inspire young people to achieve financial literacy, become prepared for the work force, and embrace entrepreneurship in order to succeed in a global economy.

If you are interested in donating or being a volunteer teacher for Junior Achievement please contact them at  (509) 783-7222  or online at https://www.juniorachievement.org/web/ja-washingtonse

Partnering with Habitat for Humanity in May 2015

Coldwell Banker Tomlinson Associated Brokers is proud to team up with Habitat for Humanity for May 2015. We are committed to helping them raise funds and volunteer this during May 2015.

There are a few different ways we are encouraging the community to get involved:

1.) Give — When you give to habitat, you are partnering with families to change their lives through home ownership. Coldwell Banker is challenging the community to help us reach our goal of 50 new monthly sponsors during May.

2.) Donate — Habitat accepts your home goods. When you donate items to the habitat store, they use these to help build and repair homes for local families. Coldwell Banker will be accepting items at our office or you can contact the Habitat Store and they will send their store truck out to pick up items from your home. You can donate here to help us reach our goal: http://bit.ly/1Ar0hfs (Please make sure to “Dedicate” your donation in the name of Coldwell Banker Tomlinson).

3.) Volunteer — Whether it’s driving nails at the build site, stocking shelves at the store, or helping in the office, your service benefits hard working, local families. Coldwell Banker will be donating their time and efforts on a build on May 23rd. We invite you to join us!

We are proud to be supporting Habitat for Humanity as it aligns so closely with what we do here at Coldwell Banker Tomlinson Associated Brokers: Enriching peoples lives through Home Ownership.

#Giveback 2015: Susan Taylor & the Madison Taylor Foundation.

It is the mission of the Madison Taylor Foundation to participate through financial assistance with organizations within the Tri-City Area who provide educational opportunities for elementary age children in the areas of computer and science technology.

The Madison taylor Foundation has been accepted into the Tree Rivers Foundation. Three Rivers is a local charity management organization designed to help implement the goals of its members. Three Rivers is managed by professional accountants, attorneys and financial experts.

Susan Taylor is proud to be the Founder Madison Taylor Foundation in honor of her daughter Madison Taylor who passed in 2001.

Madison used to write in her daily journal about her love for science and computers. It is the hope of the Madison Taylor Foundation that her love for the sciences can be shared with many more school-aged children.

Help Susan #giveback by donating funds or volunteering your time to the Madison Taylor Foundation / Three Rivers Charity Foundation.

You can find Susan’s advertisement on the back of the Coldwell Banker Tomlinson Listing Magazine and on the back of the Homes and Land for April 2015.

Helping #GiveBack to Seattle Children’s Hospital

Our agents are not only local Real Estate experts, but are also proud members of the Tri-Cities community. They are dedicated to giving back and making our community a better place to live through the non-profit charities they support.

Three Rivers Guild is just one of many local guilds supporting fund raising activities in Benton & Franklin Counties for Seattle Children’s Hospital. The money raised by this local guild goes directly to support the Seattle Children’s Hospital. Seattle Children’s Hospital provides quality care for children from all different cities and counties throughout the state.

Marnie is proud to dedicate her time and energy to help with fund raising activities for the guild. She helps plan and facilitate the Bake Sales, Alternative Gift Fair, Purchase a Miracle, Chili Feed, and she is currently very busy planning (alongside other guilds) a Valentine’s Ball for February 14, 2015.

Through these combined efforts, multiple Benton & Franklin County guilds have raised over $192,000 in 2013 in support of uncompensated care for patients at Seattle Children’s Hospital.  Last year, $5.2 million in Uncompensated Care was provided to families from Benton & Franklin Counties. This included 2,007 individual patient visits by our local children to Seattle Children’s Hospital!

The guild members donate enormous time, energy and money to this very worthy cause and many have experienced firsthand the quality of healthcare provided by Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Help Marnie #GiveBack by volunteering or donating with the Three Rivers Guild in support of Seattle Children’s Hospital.
